CO2 reduction plan for Makso Assemblage
Realisation in Veenendaal

Makso Assemblage is taking the next step towards carbon neutral this year. After a detailed inventory and analysis, there is now a concrete plan to achieve CO2-neutral housekeeping. Green Cadence uses leading software to model the energy demand and identifies savings opportunities on that basis. In addition, historical energy consumption has been analysed and this has yielded some startling insights.
From the report, we mention some findings that may also be of interest to you:
- Energy consumption outside operating hours was found to be unexpectedly high. Further research is expected to lead directly to a reduction in energy consumption.
- Steam humidifiers to reduce the risk of static electricity use an unexpectedly high amount of energy. By automating and controlling humidification more intelligently, a significant amount of energy can be saved.
- Gas-fired central heating boilers cause a large proportion of CO2 emissions. By making better use of existing air-to-air heat pumps (see photo), gas consumption can be reduced to a large extent.
The study and resulting CO2 reduction plan gives Makso the insight and concrete measures that can be taken to make its energy management CO2 neutral.
