Carbon reduction in sportfishing
Realisation in Renswoude (NL)

Carpfood is a large producer of special products for sport fishing in the Netherlands. With finesse, they make the tastiest boilies (fish food) in all flavours, as well as special seed bombs for all kinds of plants. They are taking steps to make their production more energy-efficient and CO2-neutral. Since 2022, a large part of the electrical consumption has been provided by a sun-on-roof installation. Through our partner Tascon, we were commissioned to identify additional measures.
With our data-driven approach and using RETScreen Expert, total energy consumption and CO2 emissions of around 200 tonnes per year were analysed. That is the equivalent of about 40 conventional homes. The proposed measures consist of quick-wins and investments. Collectively, they can reduce energy consumption by 30% and almost completely electrify. Grid congestion still stands in the way of full electrification, but plants can already be prepared for it.
The roadmap to CO2 neutral is ready. We wish Carpfood every success and are ready to take the next steps!
